Planned obsolescence is not inevitable! When they noticed that people were changing their mobiles more frequently, four e-business, re-use and telecoms entrepreneurs – Pierre-Etienne Roinat, Benoît Varin, Cédric Maucourt and Antoine Jeanjean – decided to give a second life to mobile phones by founding Recommerce Solutions in 2009.
Since then, the start-up has really taken off and, while keeping the values and dynamism that make it strong, has created a new economic model: ‘recommerce‘, which aims to encourage the reselling of second-hand items. The company now operates in several European countries and employs around a hundred colleagues.
