Iain joined Seventure in 2008 as an Advisor to the Life Sciences Team. His time is dedicated to the coverage of UK and Ireland Life Science community on behalf of Seventure, and to prospect new investment opportunities based there. Iain is based in London. Prior to joining Seventure, Iain established and ran the healthcare investment business of Quester Capital, an early-stage venture capital business, for over 10 years. In 2000, Iain founded Vela Venture Partners to advise early-stage investors in the UK. He is an experienced non-executive director, having served on the boards of biotechnology and med-tech companies, including Vivacta, Avidex, Oxxon, Lectus, and Xention. He is a member of the British Venture Capital Association, the BioIndustry Association and UNICO. Iain was appointed in 2008 to the Strategic Advisory Board for IP Policy to advise the UK Intellectual Property Office. In parallel to his involvment with Seventure, Iain is an Investment Director at NESTA, a highly active publicly-funded organisation supporting innovation, which invests in early stage companies in the UK. Iain holds a Biochemistry degree from the University of Oxford.
